Chelsea Transfers: 5 Surprise Signings Jose Mourinho May Still Make This Summer

5. Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba Didier Drogba could be set for a sensational summer return to Chelsea, according to the Metro. The Ivorian left Chelsea in 2012 off the back of winning the Champions League and joined Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua alongside former Blues teammate Nicolas Anelka. Anelka has recently returned to the Premier League with West Brom and now, Drogba could be set to follow suit. Mourinho is keen on being reunited with the 35-year-old, who first joined Chelsea just as the "Special One" was beginning his first tenure at Stamford Bridge in 2004. The pair have reportedly met at the club's Cobham training base to discuss a move, and Drogba, now at Turkish outfit Galatasaray, only has a year left to run on his current contract. The striker has previously admitted he could be tempted by a return to West London, where he helped Chelsea win one Champions League, three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups. And Mourinho said that, at 35, Drogba could still have an important role to play in his team. He said:
"I can use Didier as a profile to persuade youngsters to follow me because he followed me from day one."
