1. Wayne Rooney
However, as Jose Mourinho has
publicly admitted himself, the Manchester United striker is the club's principal transfer target this summer, stating that it is "Rooney or bust". The 27-year-old has already been the subject of a failed £20 million offer by the Blues this summer and while United manager David Moyes has claimed there has
no further contact from Chelsea, the Londoner's are
expected to make an improved offer. Reports suggest the Europa League winners will wait until next week before making a second bid, and are hoping the negative reception Rooney is likely to receive at Rio Ferdinand's testimonial against Sevilla will convince the England international to move to West London. Rooney was jeered by United fans as he collected his Premier League winner's medal and again during the club's open top bus parade through Manchester the following week. And another hostile reception could persuade the star he is no longer wanted at Old Trafford, and that his future lies elsewhere.
