Crystal Palace: 5 Most Likely Candidates To Replace Tony Pulis
4. David Moyes
Despite being sacked by Manchester United part-way through last season, David Moyes quickly leapt to the top of some bookmakers' lists for Pulis' immediate replacement - possibly because he will be seen as the most able of the available managers; the most qualified man in the Job Centre as it were. And Palace could do a lot worse than going after him, even though he became a figure of comic tragedy last year at Old Trafford. But Moyes is hugely experienced, and if Palace have aspirations to emulate the likes of Everton - over-reaching to stay in the top division for a significant number of years and building smartly to the point where they can be considered perennial European challengers - perhaps bringing in a man who has done it all before would be the best move. Pros He did remarkably well with tight financial constraints at Everton before moving to Manchester United, and though his footballing ethos can occasionally be a little dour, there is no doubting his overall ability as a manager. And of course, like Sherwood, he's available and wouldn't cost anything in compensation. Cons One bad year does not a terrible manager make - Brian Clough was sacked from Leeds after all without even lasting that long - but it's hard to judge Moyes' confidence at the minute, particularly as he has seen probably the biggest opportunity of his career evaporate in a cloud of bad decisions and worse results. If the rumours are be believed, Parish's desire to bring in Zaha wouldn't go down too well with the manager.
