Crystal Palace: 5 Most Likely Candidates To Replace Tony Pulis

3. Neil Lennon

When the former Celtic man left for a bigger challenge it was widely expected that he would turn up at West Brom, where the managerial seat remained unfilled, but so far the manager is still looking for the right opportunity to test himself in England (or elsewhere). Pros Again, he's available, and according to the Mirror, he wants the job. Even more importantly, Lennon has top level experience in Scotland, and in the Champions League, and while he is still a rookie in real terms, for an inexperienced manager, he has thus far been hugely successful. He came close to beating Rangers to the SPL title when they were still contenders under Walter Smith, and though he had little to contend with after that when Rangers went down, he did show some flashes of managerial nous. He;s also proved himself smart in the transfer market, though that probably wouldn't come into it at Palace: he signed the likes of Gary Hooper, Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster and he would be able to bring that intelligent approach to England if he could negotiate a position where he had an impact on transfers. Cons If Parish prefers to work with less hot-headed managers, Lennon is not the man for him: while he calmed down after his first fiery season, it's always seemingly bubbling not too far under the surface. And there are always some who would suggest that the SPL offers a false positive in terms of showing off true ability: when there aren't any contenders, it's hard to shake the accusation that Celtic won by default and it wouldn't have mattered who was in charge.
