Everton: 5 Reasons Moyes Should Leave Everton

3. Age

Moyes is 50 next month: still relatively young in the world of football management. He has 11 years Premier League management behind him plus a superb, but rarely mentioned, few years with Preston where he took a team threatened with relegation from the old Division 2 to the Playoff final to the brink of the Premier League in just 3 years. Moyes has not yet won a trophy with Everton, although he came agonisingly close in the 2009 FA Cup final, with Chelsea coming from behind to win, and the clock is ticking on his career. He is arguably approaching the peak of his managerial career, old enough to be considered experienced but young enough to change and adapt his approach. Moyes may be happy to continue at Everton with no wish to leave. If he does have further ambitions though, he must also be aware that time is ticking for those ambitions to be fulfilled.
