8. Defender: Jonny Evans - £5.5 Million
The Manchester United centre-back might be something of a risky option after taking both his patchy injury record and his side's equally patchy defensive record into account last season. The Northern Ireland international spent a considerable period on the sidelines last term and, having undergone surgery to repair an ankle injury at the end of the 2011/12 campaign, only managed 23 Premier League appearances in 2012/13. United also kept their
worst defensive record in 11 years last season and it wasn't often that they raked in clean sheet bonuses on Fantasy Football. However, the 25-year-old is improving all the time and despite his worrying injury record has looked pretty solid in the games he has played, serving as a reliable deputy for Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic last term. Evans looks set to become one of United's first-choice centre-backs in the coming years and putting the £5.5 million-rated defender in your Fantasy Football team could end up proving to be a shrewd bet, albeit not one without risk.
