Football's Worst Ever Cheating Divers

5. Cristiano Ronaldo

The impact of a player play-acting should always be measured against the player's skill: if Mike Williamson decided to try and win a few free-kicks by throwing himself to the ground when he realised there was very little chance he could ever best a player on equal terms, you might forgive him, but when it is the second (or first) best player in the world doing it, it's even more wrong.

And yet Real Madrid's free-scoring, mercurial forward Cristiano Ronaldo is quite happy to try and con referees into awarding him free-kicks and penalties. I'm not sure what they put in the magic sponge at Madrid, but Ronaldo frequently overcomes what initially appear to be career- if not life-threatening injuries in record time to play on. Must be the Spanish air.
