Chelsea fell behind to a Deco 20 yard strike, but then the Englishman took the initiative when he found himself at the by-line on the left handside, with no options in the middle. Ignoring the chance to wait for support, Lampard turned and somehow got the ball over Valdes and into the back off the net. Again, this is a goal of great quality and very different to the goals fans were used to seeing from Lampard.
