Rodgers has been promoting a Barcelona-esque style of play since his arrival, a return to the old Liverpool style of pass and move as well as a defensive pressing when the opposition is on the ball. Since then Liverpool have shown signs of returning to a style that shows domination of possession, however its clear that the team havent completely grasped this as their performances have been inconsistent. Also, Rodgers insistence on a 4-3-3 formation means that Liverpool have little room for a plan B that Andy Carroll seemed to offer. The team will eventually grasp this and turn into a force to be reckoned with, but for the mean time Liverpool remain in a transition period and need time to settle into this style of play, which will probably take another season or two.
