4. A Great Team Player
According to a weekly updated Opta widget on the Official Liverpool Website¹, Liverpool's Luis Suárez has completed more key passes than either of his two main rivals for the Player of the Year Award. In fact, he's quite a long way ahead of his nearest rival. Currently, Bale has completed 62 key passes for Spurs whereas Luis has completed 78. This shows how often Suárez looks to set up his team mates. Although if you actually look at the assists league table RVP leads on actually setting up his team mates for goals², you could say Suárez is the best team player out of all the contenders because he is playing in an inferior side who have often needed more than one chance to score thus a lot of Suárez's good play has gone unrewarded. Bale is also inferior when it comes to directly assisting his team mates having only made two assists this season compared to Suárez's four - Bale is also rapidly developing a "do it yourself" type attitude and sometimes appears far too greedy, often shooting from ridiculous angles to steal the headlines for himself. No matter which way you look at it, we all know Luis is one of the hardest working players in the league. Something you cannot add up is the amount of effort a player puts into a match. Week in, week out Suárez runs his heart out for 90 minutes combining magical skill with determination and aggression - how often do these amazing qualities manifest themselves into one player?
