Liverpool: 5 Reasons Luis Suárez Is The Undisputed Player Of The Year

3. He Is Excelling In A Largely Average TeamSuarez How Luis has scored so many goals in a team struggling for consistency is genuinely a mystery. Quite often we see that if a team is struggling for form then the main striker's goalscoring form is also affected - usually because the team's midfield is not performing as it should be. If you take Chelsea as a prime example, they are a team currently struggling for solidarity and form and the form of both Demba Ba and Fernando Torres have suffered. Compared to these Chelsea stars, Suárez seems unaffected by Liverpool's current ups and downs and simply continues to tear defences to pieces. Another point to this is how high up the table Liverpool are and could be. Suárez's form has positioned Liverpool just seven points from the coveted top four positions and although that target remains a distant dream, they are still definitely in the hat for a Europa League place - sitting just two points behind fifth placed Arsenal. Liverpool would be absolutely nowhere near the European places if it wasn't for Suárez and this shows just how integral he is and just how well he has performed to drag a fairly average team towards the teams who currently consider themselves Champions League regulars. If Liverpool finish anywhere near the top four then Suárez can take a huge amount of the credit and that feat in itself would make Suárez a deserving PFA Player of the Year winner.
