Liverpool Transfers: 10 DREAM Signings Brendan Rodgers Could Make

10. Fabio Coentrao

With first-choice left-back Jose Enrique's bothersome knee injury flaring up again and ruling the Spain international out for the foreseeable, Liverpool could be tempted to sign a new fullback before the January transfer window slams shut until the summer. Enrique has only played half an hour of Premier League football since October 5, while Aly Cissokho has only rarely show promise that he is capable cover. Only Aston Villa have conceded more goals than Liverpool have in the top half of the table this season and a short-term replacement for Enrique would be advised. One option is Real Madrid's out-of-favour defender Fabio Coentrao, who has only made four La Liga appearances this season and is very much on the fringes at the Bernabeu. The Reds were interested over the summer, as were Chelsea and Manchester United, and may revive their interest between now and February.
