According to reports, Liverpool are interested in the services of the Omani shot-stopper, whilst Brendan Rodgers wants to sign
two new keepers this month and has advised his scouts to be on the look-out for a young understudy and a senior number 1. This would certainly spell the end for Reina's career at Anfield and it is believed Wigan keeper Al-Habsi has emerged as one of Rodger's favourites to fill the gloves of the Spaniard should he leave. Rodgers would likely be able to land Al-Habsi for as little at £7 million, given that the keeper is 31. At 6ft 4 Al-Habsi is of quite an imposing stature as well, and would provide Liverpool's defence with a bit more composure. Source(s):
