Liverpool vs Arsenal: 5 Ways Gunners Must Stop Reds

3. Integrating Diaby To The Attack

Arsenal has been playing defensive midfield by consensus for about three seasons now. Song and Wilshire did a great job of rotating between attack and defense. As did Arteta and Song last season, once they got the right balance. This season, the job has fallen to Diaby and Arteta. They have done a great job in the first two games, but Diaby, at the moment, is so focused on the defensive side of the game that he is not in the flow of the attacking side. He is rushing his decisions and choosing to dribble when he should pass and vice versa. As a consequence, he has given away a lot more passes than he normally does when playing further forward. Normally, you would say that a player like this is out of form; and therefore, he should sit on the bench. But he is not that far off. With encouragement from Wenger and the other player's support, he should be okay. The truth is that Arsenal need his offense on Sunday as it could make the difference.
