Liverpool's 10 Best Premier League Goals Ever

8. Steven Gerrard vs Middlesbrough - 2004/05

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBZzTBX17mU Gerrard was coming into the absolute prime of his career at this point, and his career-defining performance in the 2005 Champions League Final against AC Milan was just weeks away. This 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at Anfield was a fairly meaningless game in the grand scheme of things, and the then 24-year-old's stunning effort lit up an otherwise forgettable afternoon. The technique and execution was sensational, and it was a shot that only a handful of players at the time would even have attempted. It was at a time when Gerrard seemed to be scoring goals of such quality on an almost weekly basis. The dropped points meant the Reds' chance of a top-four finish were dented, and although they ended up coming fifth behind rivals Everton, they qualified for Europe's biggest club competition by virtue of winning it on that memorable night in Istanbul. Of all the excellent goals scored by Liverpool that season- Luis Garcia's against Juventus certainly springs to mind- this trademark rocket by Gerrard was the best.
