Liverpool's 10 Best Premier League Goals Ever

9. Fernando Torres vs Newcastle - 2007/08

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoiMyWdiXn0 The 2007/08 season saw the on-pitch relationship between Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard really start to blossom. With the skipper flourishing in a more advanced midfield role than previously, and Torres arguably the best striker in the world at the time, it was a match made in heaven. This goal often goes under the radar when it comes to selecting Liverpool's greatest Premier League goals, but it is one of the most clever, original efforts at Anfield in many years. The way Gerrard collects the ball at pace, then finds Torres with an inch-perfect pass is pretty special, but the outrageous dummy by the Spaniard on Newcastle goalkeeper Steve Harper, before finishing into an empty net, was proof of a genius at work. Rafa Benitez's side eventually won the game 3-0, with Jermaine Pennant opening the scoring prior to Torres' goal, and Gerrard rounding things off in the second-half. Liverpool finished 4th in the league, ensuring Champions League football on Merseyside for another season, and they were starting to look fairly formidable under the former Valencia boss.
