Liverpool's 5 Worst Players So Far This Season

1. Dejan Lovren

Liverpool's defence last year was leaky to say the least. It's fair to say that, if they had had John Terry at the back, for example, they would have won the Premier League. It was obvious that a new centre-back was needed, and when Lovren signed from Southampton for £20m it was seen as terrific business by the club. The Croatian had been one of the standout defenders in the country in 2013/14, and was seen as the man to change Rodgers' defensive woes. Obviously it's still early days, and some players do take time to adjust to life at a new club, but Lovren has been absolutely dreadful so far. He has made countless errors, some of which have led directly to goals, and his supposed expertise on the ball has been non-existent. Time and time against he has either lost possession or put teammates in trouble, and when he and Mignolet start passing to each other it's almost painful to watch. The 25-year-old must be a talented centre-back- he showed what he was capable of last season- but he is completely out of sorts at the moment. He has already lost his place in Croatia's starting lineup, and there is real pressure on Rodgers to drop him for Liverpool too. Lovren has to go down as the worst signing of the season so far, in the whole of the Premier League, and he has undoubtedly been Liverpool's worst player of the season to date as well. Huge improvements are needed. Please let us know your opinions in the comments section.Follow Henry on twitter: @HenryJackson87
