Man City: 4 Manager Short-List To Replace Roberto Mancini

3. Jose Mourinho

His reputation is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the charismatic Portuguese manager: two Champions' League winners' medals (let's forget the ones he threw into the crowd as Porto boss), seven top division wins- including two in the Premier League with Chelsea- and untold success in the domestic cups throughout Europe. Jose Mourinho is, quite rightly, regarded as one of the best football managers to have ever graced the world. He has managed at three of the biggest clubs in the world- Inter, Real Madrid and the aforementioned Chelsea- so Mourinho is certainly not going to have any issues in managing a strong character or two and, let's face it, if he were to sit in the Etihad's home dugout, he would definitely not have a shortage of those (Carlos Tevez away to Bayern Munich, anyone?). Some would even argue that he would have the strongest personality in the changing rooms. This man knows how to win football matches and he once went 150 games unbeaten at home across over nine years from 2002 and three clubs, those being Porto, Inter Milan (at a time when the Italian league had more strength in depth than at present) and Real Madrid. He is no stranger to a bold statement or action either- refer to his 'I am the Special One' piece and, after his 150 home game run without defeat came to an end, he entered the Sporting Gijon dressing room to congratulate each and every man in that room. Bold? Certainly. Arrogant? Probably. A managerial genius? Most definitely.
