back in 2009. Then, Subotic claimed he was "flattered" by City's interest, which has
since resurfaced. Subotic has in recent times helped form half of European football's leanest defensive partnerships alongside Mats Hummels at Dortmund and is back on City's radar this summer. The 24-year-old was an integral cog in Dortmund's back-to-back Bundesliga-winning side in 2010-11 and 2011-12 and also played an important role in their run to the Champions League final, making 11 European appearances. And with City struggling to crack the Champions League Group Stage in each of the last two seasons, having someone with the European experience that Subotic has could come useful this season.
