Man City Transfers: 5 Goalkeepers That Pellegrini Can Bring In To Replace Joe Hart

4. Victor Valdes (Barcelona)

A keeper that has already made up his mind that he will leave his club at the end of the season is Victor Valdes, who stated some time ago now that he would not extend his contract with Barcelona, which runs out in the summer. Many clubs have understandably been linked with him since his claim, with the world's top sides lining up to offer him a contract. In these situations it is usually the teams with the deeper pockets that triumph, and this case is no different. There have been strong rumours that the Spain international has agreed a contract with French Ligue 1 side Monaco, with their Russian billionaire backing providing the catalyst for such an audacious move. Whilst City are as rich, they will have quite a time in convincing Valdes to move, not least of all because the club are looking for something of a quick fix, and Valdes will not become available until the summer. That being said, a deal is not impossible, with a very likely scenario that City will bring in a keeper in January and then make a move for Valdes in the summer when his contract expires. The 31-year-old has cited the need for a change of scenery as the reason for his wanting to move, and the Etihad could provide a competitive and very lucrative place to spend his later playing years.
