2. Gareth Bale
City are among a host of clubs interested in the services of the hugely-coveted Welsh international. Along with derby rivals United, City also face competition from the continent for the 24-year-old, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain
also interested in the £80 million-rated star. City have made it clear that they ARE prepared to pay that amount, despite the fact they've already spent over £90 million this summer. The capture of Bale would take their summer spending to dizzying heights as the Qatari-owned club once again flex their financial muscles. Bale was in inspired form last season, and his 21 Premier League goals made him the third-highest goalscorer in the division and also ensured he enjoyed a clean-sweep at the PFA Player of the Year Awards. Spurs would clearly be reluctant to sell but, as United did when Madrid came calling for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009, would struggle to resist such a gigantic offer.
