David Silva looks set to return from a minor injury in the Manchester Derby, a match he is all to familiar with. There have been a whopping 9 derbies in the 3 years since David Silva joined Manchester City in June 2010. When it comes to ball control and possession retention, David Silva is one of the best in the business. Whilst he may be of lightweight frame and stature, the creative midfielder can pick the perfect pass and split a defence wide open. Demonstrated when he assisted Alvaro Negredo's goal against Cardiff City. David Silva tends to work best when he has the freedom to roam about the pitch, which it is plausible he will do against a fairly robust Manchester United defensive side. Silva however, does have a habit of causing problems against rigid back fours, similar to United's. Should Silva get the space and time he requires on the ball to pick out the most exquisite of passes, City will be in for a fruitful afternoon in front of goal. If he can't, he'll resort to quick interchanges and tiki-taka type football that will be just as hard for the United defence to deal with.
