Man Utd 0-1 Newcastle - 5 Things We Learned

5. Alan Pardew Is The Right Man For The Job

In late October, Newcastle suffered a damaging defeat to bitter rivals Sunderland and the odds of manager Alan Pardew losing his job were drastically cut. Many thought the Englishman was living on borrowed time going into November, but what followed was a flawless set of results which saw the Magpies go undefeated for a month, beating Chelsea and Spurs along the way. As a result, Pardew was named manager of the month for November and very few can call for his head with any serious conviction after this latest, memorable win. There are signs of recovery on Tyneside, with the Magpies just two points off a Europa League place - and though there's still a long way to go, Pardew looks like the right man to take the club forwards.
