Man Utd 1-0 Arsenal: Player Ratings

Man Utd

Raheem Sterling Vs Antonio ValenciaDavid De Gea: Only had one save to make from Gibbs. It was straight at him, so nothing to write home about. 5/10. Chris Smalling: Another decent display at right back, but crossing still woeful. Should have scored when a van Persie free kick curled through to him when in behind the Gunners defence. Great tackle on Giroud in own box later on. Better defensively than going forward. 6/10. Nemanja Vidic: Took a blow to the head in first half stoppage time. Never emerged for second half. Subbed. 6/10. Jonny Evans: Did well in defence on his return from back problem. Giroud largely shackled well by the Northern Irishman. Partnership with Jones could be the long-term future of the Red Devils. 6.5/10. Patrice Evra: Not involved all that much today, but another consummate performance at left back. Now faces a crunch World Cup playoff with France. 5/10. Antonio Valencia: Like Evra his name rarely cropped up. Needs to stop being so quiet or he will be replaced. Hard work alone is not enough in a wide position for United given who used to play on that flank. 4.5/10. Click on next for more Manchester United player ratings including subs.
