Man Utd 1-0 Arsenal: Player Ratings

copyright Andrew OrchardPhil Jones: Harshly booked for going up for a 50-50 aerial ball with the keeper. Understandable in current climate after Lloris concussion. Put in blocks when he moved into defence for second half. Needs game in his favoured position to flourish. 6/10. Michael Carrick: United have missed this clever midfield presence. Better when his partnership with Cleverley was reprised. 6/10. Shinji Kagawa: Moyes continues to play him out of position and there he is not able to influence things unless he came infield. Subbed. 5/10. Wayne Rooney: Deflected effort fell straight at Szczesny early on. Assist for first goal. All action in search of the ball. Teed himself up in second half, but dragged wide. Booked for poor lunge on Ramsey. Sharing the MOTM award with RVP. 7/10. Robin van Persie: Headed in a set piece to give United a lead. Clever run from deep and precise header across goal from the near post. Created a great chance for Smalling to seal victory with a dead ball. Subbed. Sharing MOTM award with Rooney. 7/10. Subs: Tom Cleverley: Gave away a silly foul on Giroud second half, but nice to see his partnership with Carrick back. 6/10. Ryan Giggs: Came on for final 10-15 minutes to see out the win. Rating N/A. Marouane Fellaini: Also introduced late to see out three points. Rating N/A. Click next for Arsenal player ratings.
