Man Utd 1-2 Spurs: Premier League Player Ratings

Adnan Januzaj: Lovely through-ball made Welbeck goal. Curled an effort just wide at 2-1 down. Belatedly booked for diving and he must stamp this out of his game. Januzaj does not have carte blanche to throw himself to the floor under minimal contact every game just because he can pick a pass or put a decent ball in. 5/10. Wayne Rooney: Fired a free kick over early on. Booked for fouling Dembele. Dropped into midfield when Moyes made changes and accomplished more than Cleverley did. It's been this type of game where Rooney has become frustrated before. He rose above getting wound up by the situation this evening and tried to rectify the problem. 5.5/10. Danny Welbeck: Threat of pace in behind almost caught Dawson out early on. A real thorn in Tottenham's side and the best Red Devils player on the pitch. Scored a classy goal, lifting over Lloris, but tried to win a penalty under minimal contact from Chiriches. 6.5/10. Subs: Shinji Kagawa: Came on for half an hour, but only about a third of that time was in his favoured number ten position. Why is Moyes so afraid to play him there? Rooney had gone into midfield when this sub was made. 5/10. Javier Hernandez: Entered the action alongside Kagawa and barely had a sniff. Needs rejuvenating at both club and international level. 4/10. Ashley Young: Moyes threw him on for the last seven minutes plus stoppages. Rating N/A. Click next for Tottenham player ratings.
