Man Utd: 5 More Cuneyt Cakir Red Card Incidents

5. Mario Balotelli: Manchester City v Dynamo Kiev, 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQYz5xvBa-o Manchester United's Nani was sent off for a collision with Arbeloa in which the Portuguese's foot was deemed to by high and therefore dangerous, and Mario Balotelli was dismissed by the Turkish referee for a very similar incident in his side's Europa League clash with Dynamo Kiev in 2011. Balotelli was contesting a loose ball with left-back Goran Popov, but followed through with his studs into the chest of the Macedonian international before raking his studs down his thigh, leaving Cakir little choice but to hand the fiery Italian the second red card of his career, later prompting manager Roberto Mancini to brand the player "stupid" in the wake of the incident. Though Cakir was correct in sending off Balotelli, he made some strange decisions throughout the game. Chants of €œreferee, you€™re having a laugh€ rang out at full time as City were eliminated 2-1 on aggregate.
