Much of the reason why United won't retain their title however is David Moyes himself. Sure, an ageing, creaking defence, a lack of creativity in central midfield and a total lack of quality on the wings aren't helping, but it is Moyes's inexperience in title races that will ultimately prove costly. The Scot has never been in a title race before, and unlike his contemporaries Jose Mourinho, Manuel Pellegrini and Arsene Wenger, has never won a championship. The Community Shield back in August is the single piece of silverware Moyes has ever lifted in a 15-year managerial career, and it is this absence of top-level experience that is going to hinder United this season. Predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson had the nous and canny wit to outfox rivals in the latter stages of the Premier League, when dropping points becomes really costly, and that's something Moyes, crucially, lacks. Disagree? Can Man Utd still win the title this season? Let us know in the comment section, below.
