Man Utd Next Manager: 5 Reasons Why Moyes Is A Better Option Than Mourinho

5. Moyes Gives Youth More Opportunities

David Moyes Ever since replacing Walter Smith as Everton boss in 2002, David Moyes has always given youth a chance. A youthful manager himself at the age of 38, the Scotsman has been moulding teams in his own image for the last eleven seasons and, perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments, Wayne Rooney, came through the Everton side from the youth ranks and flourished as a world class striker. It was thanks largely to the time and space Moyes afforded to the likes of Rooney to develop that Everton today have quite a skillful young side, whereas Mourinho on the other hand would not afford the likes of Tom Cleverly, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Danny Welbeck time and space to develop their game. Mourinho likes to flash the cash when he takes over a new club instead of using the players currently at his disposal. The Portuguese spent a whopping £225.76 million during just three seasons at Stamford Bridge, and while it brought instant success, the core of the side was weakened to the point that some of the old guard are still relied upon at Stamford Bridge today, six years later, because very few players have come through to replace the likes of Lampard, Terry and Cole. That wouldn't be allowed to happen at Manchester United.
