Jose Mourinho was sensationally 1/1 odds-on favourite to replace Ferguson at the start of play this morning but he has since
fallen back to 4/1 second favourite, according to Sky Bet, with Moyes now the bookies favourite. But as previously mentioned, Mourinho has vastly more experience than the Everton boss at the highest levels of the game having won the Champions League twice with Porto, then Inter Milan, coupled with the fact he has won the Premier League in the past, and has literally been there and done it all with Chelsea. In this period of great uncertainty, United need balance. Replacing Ferguson was always at the back of people's minds and it was always going to be something that would one day have to happen, and right now, Mourinho is the only manager in the game who has the ego big enough to step into the breech at this unprecedentedly-unstable period at Old Trafford.
