1. Barry Bannan
Sometimes a team's position does not reflect the individual talents within it. A poor Villa team has had their moments in the season and Bannan has been a heartbeat of the team able to link defence and thread killer passes through to Christian Benteke, who along with Bannan has provided the magical moments and hold the key to their team's survival in the Premier League. The multiple sides of his game have endeared himself to the Holte End faithful and he, in return, will give 100% to the cause, no matter the hardship. If the worst comes to fruition and relegation ensues, Villa will have to do a lot to persuade that his services are needed at Villa Park and not elsewhere back in the Premier League, where his talents can be nurtured and enhanced in another club. As mentioned earlier, his knack to pick out the right pass has undone the hardiest of defences as well as his long ball delivery that certain individuals would thrive on receiving. He is also a competent crosser, if he is required to fulfill that role. The division in which Villa end up in come 6pm on the 19th May, may shape his long-term future with regards establishing himself as a real British talent and gaining sufficient exposure to gain a constant spot in future Scotland squads. Maybe there are other players that can step up, use the comment section below to add to this list.
