Man Utd Transfers: 5 Best & 5 Worst Ever January Deals

2. Patrice Evra

Patrice Evra Now we have arrived at the real, established success stories of United's January transfer dealings, with Patrice Evra cementing himself as the number one left back at the club since signing from Monaco in 2006. Granted his first six months weren't anything to be proud of, in which he had a horrendous debut against Man City, he quickly became a fan-favourite and one of the most consistent performers in the team. In fact, before 2010 and the France World Cup ordeal, he was widely considered by many to be the best left-back in the world, possibly only matched by Chelsea's Ashley Cole. Whilst his performances haven't quite lived up to those standards since, he remains a reliable and important member of the team. At £5.5 million Evra turned out to be an absolute bargain for United, winning numerous Premier League titles and that Champions League final in Moscow. Source: BBCSport
