Man Utd Transfers: 5 Best & 5 Worst Ever January Deals

1. Nemanja Vidic

Without a doubt the best January signing that Sir Alex Ferguson has ever made, Nemanja Vidic has every quality to be a success at a club like Man Utd. Arriving in the same window as Evra for another bargain fee of £7 million, Vidic now captains the United team and plays an integral role in any glory. He struggled with his first half-season as Evra did, but went on to prove himself as one of the best defenders in the world. He is an absolute rock at the heart of the defence with all the steel, grit and determination you could ask for. Repeatedly labelled a warrior by fans and pundits alike, you would be hard pressed to find a better mid-season defensive signing than Vidic. The double winning season of 2007/08 is a high point in his career in which he played a crucial role; it's hard to imagine that feat would have been accomplished without Vidic and, despite serious knee injuries in his last couple of years, he still remains a leader both on and off the pitch. The scouting team and Sir Alex can take great pride in their work of acquiring Vidic before turning him into the monster he is today. Players like him don't come around too often and, when they do, they should be applauded. Source: BBCSport Do you agree with these suggestions of the best and worst January transfers for Man Utd?
