Man Utd Transfers: 5 Defenders David Moyes Could Sign To Shore Up Back 4

5. Alex Sandro

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUCx5d4RACE According to reports, Manchester United are preparing to raid Porto of three of their star players with Eliaquim Mangala, James Rodriguez and, latterly, Alex Sandro all on their wishlist of summer transfer targets. It is Sandro that we will examine here, the Brazilian defender who is just the latest name to have been conjured up as a replacement for veteran Patrice Evra at left back. Sandro is a typical South American wingback in that he is more comfortable going forward than defending, and in that sense is a lot like Chelsea's David Luiz - and a lot like Evra, too. The Frenchman is known to bomb forward in attack and contribute to offensive moves but at 32, has now lost that yard of pace or two which often leaves him out of position when trying to track back to defend. At 22, Sandro is a younger model and is in my eyes at least the ideal long-term replacement.
