Another potential replacement for the ageing Evra is Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao. The Portuguese left back has only been used sparingly at the Bernabeu this season, and has been limited to just 16 appearances in La Liga competition. Earlier this month, he succumbed to a rather embarrassing situation when he went to take his place on the Madrid bench, only to be informed by his perplexed teammates that
he wasn't even in the squad. It remains to be seen how much longer the fullback is prepared to settle for being a bit-part player at the Bernabeu and United could capitalise on the situation by bringing him to Old Trafford. Another quick left back who could step into Evra's shoes, he possesses the ability to go on marauding runs down the left hand side and like Sandro, is known to contribute to the attack as a wingback.
