4. Lars Bender
Another option is Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen. The 24-year old attacking midfielder
has been scouted by United while playing in the Bundesliga and for Germany, where he has also been deployed as a right-back much in the same way as Antonio Valencia has previously in the absence of Rafael, which would seem to lend Moyes more flexibility. With Paul Scholes retired, Carrick touching the wrong side of 30, Anderson's future at the club in doubt coupled with the long-term illness of Darren Fletcher, the Red Devils are short of options in the middle of the park - particularly offensive options. Wayne Rooney has been utilized as an attacking midfielder in the past, a role he is unhappy with, and so Moyes may have to bring in a new signing to fill this position. The German international
is valued at £25 million by his club and would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford.
