3. İlkay Gündoan
Considering Paul Scholes has retired for a second and final time, United do need a new creative playmaker and as such the Premier League champions have been
running the rule over Borussia Dortmund's impressive youngster İlkay Gündoan. Perhaps best known for his passing game and technical qualities (which ginger-haired midfielder does that remind you of?), Gündoan was an instrumental figure in Dortmund's charge to the Champions League final and put in a phenomenal performance in the semi-finals against Spanish giants Real Madrid. Manager Jurgen Klopp would clearly be pained to see Gündoan go having already lost Mario Götze to Bayern Munich as well as midfield star Shinji Kagawa to United the season prior, while Robert Lewandowski remains a target for the Premier League champions. This will all contrive to make Moyes' pursuit of Gündoan all the more challenging, though if a deal can be completed United would boast one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe within their ranks.
