1. James McCarthy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKMeLaDvebg Perhaps not the first choice given the funds available for United but McCarthy has been quitely improving at Wigan since his arrival from Hamilton in 2009. Last season was the season where he really stood out in a poor Wigan side that were finally relegated from the Premier League. He has been used in all sorts of roles in the Wigan team; even appearing in central defence at some points in the season. The step up from Wigan to United is a huge one but its clear to see that this young man has no fear, clearly demonstrated in his performances this season and against England in a recent friendly. He has built up a sterling reputation whilst at Wigan and would surely be available given their relegation.

I'm a 24 year old working in insurance; this is not the life I thought I would have as a boy. I was certain I would be playing for England by now, unfortunately I lack the necessary stamina, skill, fitness, strength and technique. However the one thing I do not lack is passion for the game and I am able to, wrongly or rightly, conjure up an opinion about any aspect of the game. Good luck with that.
