Man Utd Transfers: 5 Players Likely To Leave In August

2. Anderson

Anderson Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, or just "Anderson" to keep things nice and brief, has had six seasons to prove himself at Manchester United and has thus far failed to do so - and perhaps he never will. Signed from Porto in 2007, big things were expected of the then-19-year-old. The Brazilian had already established himself in Portugal, netting three times in 19 appearances, though regrettably, hasn't continued that promising form in England. The 25-year-old has a horrible record at Old Trafford. His stats read: Played: 96 Scored: 5. In fact, he only has 13 career goals in 130 appearances. Okay, granted, as a box-to-box midfielder, he's not really expected to score 30-times-a-season, but he is at least expected to contribute to the side in some positive way. Last season, Anderson had just one assist, while his shooting was hit-and-miss - 5 on target and 5 off target in just 17 appearances for United last season, 47% of which came from the bench. Anderson is failing to lay down a serious claim in United's midfield and you have to wonder just how many more opportunities he is going to be given. Last month, the Metro reported that David Moyes was preparing to sell eight players this summer - one of whom was Anderson.
