Man Utd Transfers: 5 Players That Should Never Have Been Sold

4. Ravel Morrison

Another United youth product that carried plenty of baggage with him on his way out of Manchester. Ravel Morrison left United in February 2012 after failing to make the most of his potential. However, Sir Alex believed in the boy enough to entrust him to one of his friends, Sam Allardyce at West Ham United. He has been one of the stand out players in a very disappointing season for the Hammers this year and has even been tipped for a place on England's plane to Brazil for the World Cup this summer. The 20 year old has scored three goals in sixteen appearances in his debut Premier League season for West Ham, and has attracted interest from some of the league's big boys, including a bizarre return to Old Trafford. It was reported in December that there could be a clause in the small print of his contract that should West Ham receive a bid of £10 million bid or more for Morrison, they will be forced to quadruple his wages if they wish to keep him. This clause would take his weekly packet from £15,000 to a whopping £60,000. He also has a minimum release fee of £18 million. So it is possible that Morrison could return to Man United, should he not go to another big club or should West Ham justify paying that much in wages for the youngster, something that would be a crazy move with the threat of relegation for the Hammers looming.
