Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Wayne Rooney Isn't Right For Chelsea

1. He May Not Thrive In London

wayne rooney The extraordinary collapse in the form of Fernando Torres following his move south should also serve as a warning that England's capital city can be a hard place to get used to for a footballer. It's a much bigger city, and much less homely city than Manchester. Should Rooney sign for the Blues, he will have to uproot immediately and completely to play in Chelsea, after spending his entire life around Liverpool and Manchester. In addition to this, the paparazzi are likely to have more access to him in London, and it'll be a little harder to navigate around them in the big city. In normal circumstances, none of these factors should deter the majority of players. However, in Rooney's case, it could be a significantly unsettling move. He's 27 years old, with a wife and two children settled in the Cheshire countryside, and it would be a logistically massive move to make so close to the start of a new season. Perhaps another season at Old Trafford, or another Top 4 club would be a better choice for the Liverpool native? What do you think? Should Rooney stay in at United, or move to Chelsea? Or is there another option? Feel free to comment!
