Man Utd Transfers: 5 Replacements For Paul Scholes

3. Isco

Isco The Spanish attacking midfielder, who is also wanted by rivals Manchester City, has triggered a race for his signature this summer by claiming he'd like to leave current club Malaga. The exciting 20-year old signed a new contract with the La Liga side just last month but that was viewed by many as a tactical ploy by Malaga to get more money for their prized asset in the next transfer window rather than as a serious effort to keep him in Spain. Isco's new deal contains a £30 million release clause and his cash-strapped club would be more than willing to entertain offers as long as they match that valuation. Malaga have been banned from European competition next term after their financial difficulties left them unable to pay wages at one point last year and Isco won't want to stick around with no Champions League football to look forward too. Ferguson was believed to have targeted the talented youngster as the ideal replacement for Scholes but that decision will now be made by Moyes.
