2. Kevin Strootman
Kevin Strootman was wanted
by both Alex Ferguson and David Moyes at one point and now both could end up winners. Everton were in for the midfielder but could now end up missing out as Moyes ups his pursuit of his prime summer transfer target - but to take him to Old Trafford instead. Moyes had identified the Dutchman as a possible replacement for Fellaini at Goodison Park but now he could be a replacement for Paul Scholes instead. Ferguson was thought to have been impressed by Strootman's passing abilities and who versatility. The midfielder can play in a holding role, as a deep-lying playmaker or as a box-to-box central midfielder and would seem to be ideal for United. The veteran Scotsman had identified him as a replacement for Scholes, and Moyes could be of the same mind. The PSV ace is also wanted by AC Milan, however.
