Man Utd Transfers: 5 Shock Moves Fergie Could Make Before Window Shuts

4. Lars Bender and Mats Hummels

According to reports, Ferguson is plotting a double-swoop on Bundesliga pair Lars Bender and Mats Hummels. The Borussia Dortmund defender and Bayer Leverkeusen attacker, respectively, are believed to be valued at £25 million apiece, and Ferguson sent his brother and chief-scout Martin to watch the duo in action for their country during Germany's goalless draw with Holland in Amsterdam back in November. Fergie is believed to have been impressed by the report on the pair and is plotting a sensational £50 million move. Bender and Hummels would meet Ferguson's transfer policy of investing in youth - the duo are both 23 and have their best years ahead of them and would come with promising re-sale values. A £50 million bid on transfer deadline day however is about as sensational as it gets and really would be a shocking move. Source(s): Mirror
