Man Utd Transfers: 7 Players Moyes Should Sell This Window
2. Alexander Büttner
Age: 24 Nationality: Dutch Joined United: August 2012 One of the most puzzling signings of the Sir Alex Ferguson era, and frankly, it's surprising he's lasted this long. Alexander Büttner had never represented the Netherlands when he was bought, and still hasn't; a handful of underage caps, and a starting place at a mediocre Eredivisie club were his selling points. He was signed as cheap back-up, and in the absence of any other redeeming features, he has remained so. He's played 8 Premier League games in his career; 5 last season, and 3 this season, netting two goals last season, and being given a Premier League medal by special dispensation of Sir Alex. Basically, he's a good, solid professional player, who does what he says on the tin. He was never good enough to be a player in one of the top sides on the planet, and now he needs to be sold for players who are.
