Man Utd Transfers: Tracking The 5 Latest Summer Rumours

4. Luka Modric From Real Madrid?

Having missed out on Fabregas and various other midfield targets such as Thiago Alcantara, United have now turned their attentions to Real Madrid's Luka Modric. Earlier today, we reported that the former Tottenham midfielder wants to join the champions and that he will reject the chance of returning to Spurs. The Croatian has endured a miserable spell in Spain since being sold to Real, and was voted alongside Alex Song as worst signings of the season by the Spanish press. And that could lead to Modric returning to England in order to revive his flagging career in a World Cup year, and with a return to Tottenham not on the cards anymore, the proverbial ball would appear to be in United's court. United desperately need a midfield reinforcement or two and Modric would bring to the club what Paul Scholes has taken with him following his second retirement - creative vision. The Red Devils could certainly benefit from a new playmaker and Modric could be just the ticket.
