Man Utd Transfers: Tracking The 5 Latest Summer Rumours

1. Wayne Rooney To Chelsea?

The Manchester United striker has been linked with a move away for the majority of the summer transfer window following a difficult season at Old Trafford. The 27-year-old found himself benched by now-retired manager Sir Alex Ferguson for a crucial Champions League tie against Real Madrid and was also unhappy that he was forced into playing in an unfamiliar midfield role. This led to the England international declaring himself "angry and confused" by his supposedly ill-treatment. And this subsequently triggered Chelsea's interest, with the Blues making two bids to date - the latter of which was £25 million. Both offers were rejected out of hand by United but now the London club are preparing a £28 million offer. That sort of money would seriously test United's resolve to keep hold of a player who turned 28 in October and who is unsettled at the club. And with this saga promising to drag on until the end of the transfer window, it will be interesting to see what happens next - especially as United host Chelsea in the Premier League next Monday. Fireworks, anyone? Who do United need to sign this summer? Let us know in the comment section, below.
