Newcastle Transfers: 10 Major Deals That Will Happen This Summer
3. Sylvain Marveaux
Sylvain Marveaux never really got the time needed to establish himself in the Newcastle team - partly due to injuries, and partly because it would seem that Alan Pardew doesn't particularly rate him. In games where Newcastle need a spark of inspiration it would seem like he would be a good player to send in but Pardew seems to trust more in young players such as Sammy Ameobi and Massadio Haidara. An argument could be made that when called upon, Marveaux fails to show his quality. But we'll never know as it appears that this summer his exit will be one of the quieter and swifter pieces of business by the club. Marveaux has only made 9 league appearances this campaign and as the club look to restructure the team, some players will leave to help keep the balance. Gabriel Obertan will be another name floated to agents in hopes of being moved on, but it is Marveaux that we can be sure will leave - he wants to go, he'll be sought after by other clubs and the club won't ask for much by way of a fee.
