The defender is one of the highest rated defensive properties in Italy, and had also been linked with both Spurs and Man Utd, as well as Fiorentina. Radu has played more than 150 times for Lazio and is an international for Romania, having built up a reputation as one of Lazio's key players. He will likely attract further Premier League interest as Lazio look to sell him on before his contract expires in 2016, but if Newcastle can steal a march on their competition it would be a very good move. The Concerns Though Sky Italia stated he would be available for about £8m, that seems a very conservative estimate for the Romanian, and a fee closer to £12m would reflect his ability and potential. He's outside the 25-year-old signing limit that seems to be back in place however, and Newcastle might be concerned that they couldn't make a profit on him in the future.
