A bona-fide legend at the club, Rob Lee was afforded the considerable prestige of being made an honourable Geordie during his ten years at the club, and it is fair to say that without him the Entertainers would just have been a dream and a twinkle in Kevin Keegan's eye. Signed from Charlton out of the grasp of Middlesbrough, the England man became a focal point of Keegan's expansive style, working alongside Peter Beardsley and Andy Cole wonderfully before sparking a friendship on and off the pitch with Alan Shearer that helped keep both men in the goals.
